SOURCE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Dear Exhibitor,

I write to draw to your attention a source of financial assistance for companies participating in the 15th Caribbean Gift and Craft Show (CGCS).

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) under its Caribbean Technological Consultancy Services (CTCS) Network is willing to provide financial assistance to 'new' exhibitors participating in the 15th CGCS from October 2-5 at the Sherbourne Conference Centre in Barbados.

The definition of 'new' in this context refers to:
a) Companies participating for the first time in CGCS
b) Companies launching new products at the show
c) Companies launching new designs at the show

Countries eligible to apply for this funding are: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos Islands.

Eligible companies must also be registered to participate in CGCS and must have paid in full for their booths.  The closing date for registration and payment for CGCS is September 15th.

The CTCS assistance will be provided to cover the following expenses:
a) Airfare
b) Hotel accommodation
c) Per diem
d) Excess baggage allowance

Companies can also request additional assistance in the following areas:
a) Training - to address a problem or technical needs
b) Hands on interventions by resource persons to assist in solving specific problems
c) Training attachments to improve managerial and technical skills

This phase of additional assistance would take place after the CGCS.  However, the maximum time limit for the total package of technical assistance is 15 days.

Prospective beneficiary companies will be required to complete a CTCS Network Application for Technical Assistance Form (copy of which is attached).  They will also be required to pay to the CDB the sum of $800 in the currency of their country except in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana where the minimum fees are JA$7,000, TT$3,000 and GY$7,500 respectively.

The Technical Assistance Form and payment should be sent to Mr. Jerome Singh, Investment Officer (Technical Assistance), Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Wildey, St. Michael, BB11103, BARBADOS.
